Class A Track and Field Leaders

A trio of Northeast Conference track and field athletes made a big impact among this week’s Class A leaderboard.

Abigail Lee of Britton-Hecla inched up from fifth to third in the triple jump with a leap of 35-8 3/4. Ryder Graff of Sisseton soared to fourth in the 800-meter run (2:02.72) after not being in the leaders last week. Harley Zemlicka of Milbank moved from sixth to third in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles (:40.93), and moved into the 110-meter high hurdles (:15.60) at sixth after not being in the top eight a week ago.

Milbank’s Sam Rick continues to lead two open events, the triple jump and the pole vault. He is also second in the long jump. Keegen Tracy of Groton remains first in the 100-meter dash, while Deuel’s Oliver Fieber continues to top the 200-meter dash with a new lower time this week. Tracy is also second in the 400-meter dash and fifth in the 200.

Other area boys among the leaders include Webster’s Matthew Mount who is second in the javelin, third in the shot put and fifth in the discus, Kellen Pfitzer of Mobridge-Pollock who is fourth in the shot put and fourth in the discus, Lucas Johnson of Great Plains Lutheran who is fourth in the high jump, Trayden Stambach of Mobridge-Pollock who is fourth in the triple jump, Miller’s Isaak Hunter who is fifth in the 110 hurdles and sixth in the 300 hurdles, Milbank’s Bryton Blauert who is fifth in the pole vault followed by teammate Jeter Scoular in sixth and Sisseton’s Carter Stickland in eighth, Groton’s Jayden Schwan who is sixth in the 1,600, Michael Severson of Clark-Willow Lake who is sixth in the shot put, Lawson Novy of Milbank who is sixth in the discus and seventh in the shot put, Jakob Steen of Clark-Willow Lake who is sixth in the javelin, and Webster’s Jeron McCreary who is seventh in the 100 hurdles.

Groton is sixth in the boys’ medley relay.

Other area girls among the leaders are Clark-Willow Lake’s Eliza Larson who is third in the shot put followed by Milbank’s Anna Neugebauer in seventh, Deuel’s Hannah Cutshaw who is third in the pole vault with teammate Lauryn Peterreins in fifth, Milbank’s Jacy Dexter in sixth, and Webster’s Kenley Grewe in eighth, Bentley Bauer of Mobridge-Pollock who is fourth in the long jump and sixth in the 100, Groton’s McKenna Tietz who is fifth in the 300 hurdles, and Clark-Willow Lake’s Cadence Bochek who is sixth in the 400.

Area girls’ relay teams in the leaders include Clark-Willow Lake which is third in the 1,600 and fifth in the medley, Groton which is fourth in the 800, and Milbank which is fourth in the 1,600 followed by Mobridge-Pollock in seventh.
