Several Aberdeen Central athletes lowered their times among the statewide Class AA track and field leaders this week.

Kyson Fayant improved his state-leading and school-record time in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles with a clocking of :38.33, which ranks eighth best all-time in state history.

Meanwhile, a pair of girls’ hurdlers also lowered their best times of the spring in the 300 hurdles.

Mya Arampatzis is now fourth in the event with a time of :46.77. Espynn Kuhfeld inched up one spot to sixth with her time of :47.33.

Also, Regan Lust bumped up one spot in the high jump with a leap of 5-2.

Also in the girls’ division, Taryn Hermansen continues to top the shot put, Arampatzis remains second in the 100 hurdles, Paige Ewalt is third in the discus, Jaidyn Forsyth is eighth in the pole vault, and the 800-meter relay team is seventh.

In the boys’ division, Fayant is seventh in the 110 hurdles and the 400-meter dash, Jack Bertsch is third in the discus, Brenner Waldrop is seventh in the javelin and eighth in the discus, the 800-meter relay is fifth, and the 400-meter relay team is eighth.
