BISMARCK, N.D. – The Aberdeen Wings once again had a strong third period, but this time could not overcome a rough start, falling 3-2 to the Bismarck Bobcats in game two of their NAHL Central Division series.

The Wings, who scored three third-period goals in a win on Friday night, had a pair of third-period goals in game two, but were unable to erase a 3-0 deficit.

“It’s a good team we are playing,” said Wings coach Scott Langer. “Make mistakes and they make you pay. Mental and physical mistakes will cost you games.”

The Bobcats scored two goals in the opening period, and then added a goal in the second period.

Aberdeen battled back with a goal from Caden Lee with 13:29 left in the game on assists from Matthew Martin and Gavin Reed. The Wings closed to within a goal when Easton Edwards found the back of the net with 3:32 left on assists from Finn Safir and Jibber Kuhl. However, that was as close as Aberdeen would get.

“The good part is we battled to the buzzer,” Langer said.

The series now shifts to the Odde Ice Center in Aberdeen for games three and four on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Puck drop will be at 7:15 each night.
