BISMARCK, N.D. – The Aberdeen Wings overcame one two-goal deficit, but they could not erase a second one on the way to a 5-3 setback to the Bismarck Bobcats in NAHL hockey action Friday night.

The hosts jumped in front 2-0 in the opening period before the Wings rallied with back-to-back goals in the second period to tie the game. Brody Dustin scored the first goal on an assist from Finn Safir. Melker Hof added a second goal on assists from Dustin and Filip Henrikkson.

However, Bismarck regained its two-goal advantage by the end of the period.

Hof added another goal on an assist from Dustin early in the third, but Aberdeen was unable to find the game-tying goal before Bismarck added an insurance goal in the closing minutes.

Each team scored three power-play goals and as the two teams combined for 11 penalties in the contest.

The Bobcats outshot Aberdeen 25-23. Jacob Iallonardo had 19 saves in goal for the Wings.

The same two teams are back on the ice this evening to close out their weekend series.
