Wings dominate Mallards in 7-1 victory

FOREST LAKE, Minn. – The Aberdeen Wings scored 31 seconds into the game to set the tone for a 7-1 NAHL hockey win over the Minnesota Mallards on Saturday night.

Jonathan Doucette found the back the net for the opening goal and the Wings tacked on three more first-period goals. Tevan James, Cooper Anderson, and Easton Edwards all added goals in the opening period.

Sam Scheetz and Brody Dustin produced goals in the second period, and Matthew Martin added a goal in the third as the Wings received goals from seven different players on the night.

Aberdeen outshot the Mallards 33-14.

The Wings will now face Central Division leader Austin in four straight games, two at Austin next week and two at the Odde Ice Center the following week. Aberdeen trails the Bruins by nine points in the standings.
