FOREST LAKE, Minn. – The Aberdeen Wings jumped in front early and never trailed on the way to a 5-2 win over the Minnesota Mallards in NAHL hockey action Friday night.

The Wings scored a pair of first-period goals, the first by David Hruby and the second by Sam Scheetz to take a lead they would not relinguish.

Aberdeen tacked on a second-period goal by Owen Pitters for a 3-0 advantage.

The Mallards got one back in the third period before Hruby and Scheetz each found the back of the net again to extend the margin.

Pitters added a pair of assists in addition to his goal.

The Mallards outshot the Wings 29-27. Aberdeen goalie Willum Braun collected 27 saves.

The same two teams are back on the ice tonight to wrap up their weekend series.
