AUSTIN, Minn. – Cooper Anderson scored a goal in the third period to lift the Aberdeen Wings to a 2-1 NAHL hockey victory over the Austin Bruins on Friday night.

The hosts jumped in front late in the first period before the Wings responded about a minute later on a goal by Matthew Martin with assists from Sam Scheetz and Jonathan Doucette. There was no scoring in the second period and the game remained tied until Anderson found the back of the net with 8:57 remaining on assists from Briggs Orr and Martin.

Aberdeen owned a 31-30 edge in shots on goal. Wings goalie Willum Braun had 29 saves.

The same two teams are back on the ice tonight, before another series in Aberdeen next weekend.
