Brust finishes runner-up at ESD golf tourney

BRANDON – Aberdeen Central’s Cole Brust fired a 2 under par 69 to finish runner-up at the Eastern South Dakota Conference Golf Tournament on Monday. The junior’s round included four birdies. He shot a blistering 32 on the back nine,

Watertown’s Johnathan Lake was the medalist with a 68. There were six golfers in the field that finished under par, including three golfers who also had a 69, and another that shot a 70.

Aberdeen Central finished eighth in the team standings. The Golden Eagles had a team total of 312.

Harrisburg won the team championship with a score of 286, seven strokes better than Brandon Valley.

Other Central golfers included Ridgly Wasem (33rd) with an 80, Kalen Larson (41st) with an 81, Jackson Ravellette (43rd) with an 82, Maddox Dinger (48th) with an 84, and Easton Kludt (49th) with an 84.

Central will now gear up for the State AA Tournament next Monday and Tuesday at Meadow Brook Golf Course in Rapid City.
