The Aberdeen Wings found themselves in a major hole and were unable to climb out of it Saturday night at the Odde Ice Center.

Trailing by four, the Wings cut the deficit in half late in the second period. Price Grimes scored with 1:38 left in the period on assists from Payne Riffey and Campbell Epp, before Melker Hof found the back of the net with 49 seconds left in the period on assists from Epp and Braden Hontvet.

Aberdeen inched to within a goal with 8:55 remaining on a goal from Epp with an assist by Taven James, but was unable to find the equalizing goal.

Minot outshot the Wings 30-23. Willum Braun had 26 saves in goal for Aberdeen.

The Wings now head to the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minn., where they will play Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. First up is a game against Springfield on Wednesday.
