AUSTIN, Minn. – The Aberdeen Wings had their season come to an end Monday night with a 2-1 setback to Austin in game five of their NAHL Central Division playoff series.

Aberdeen scored the first goal of the game when Anthony Ciaramitaro found the back of the net with eight minutes into the game on assists from Gavin Reed and Brody Dustin.

However, the Bruins responded about six minutes later on a power play, and then added what proved to be the game-winner in the first two minutes of the second period.

There was no scoring for the final 38 minutes of the contest.

Austin outshot the Wings 19-7 in the opening period.

“Was a tight game. We came out slower than I thought we would, but responded,” said Wings coach Scott Langer. “Our third was really good. We had major chances, we just couldn’t capitalize on.”

Aberdeen goalie Willum Braun stopped 37 shots on the evening.

The Wings outshot the Bruins in the final period 14-8, but were outshot in the contest 39-30.

“We generated many looks,” Langer said, “but posts, pipes and paddles seen it different.”
