Class B Track and Field Leaders

Several Class B athletes moved up among this week’s leaders following standout performances this past week.

Kendal Uttecht of Wolsey-Wessington moved into third in the 800-meter run following her time at the Greenway Relays. Ella Boekeleheide of Northwestern took over the fifth spot in the 400-meter dash with a time recorded at the Ipswich Tiger Relays. Warner’s Beckham Cantalope soared to fourth in the 400 after setting a new school record in the event at the Rob Luecke Invitational at Groton on Tuesday.

Boekelheide continues to lead the 800-meter and 1,600-meter runs. Ipswich’s Isabella Galbraith tops the field in the 3,200-meter run, and Jalyssa Hutson leads the pole vault.

In the boys’ division, Kyle Hettich of Ipswich has the fastest time in the 200, Brody Bass of Castlewood tops the 110-meter high hurdles, Jacob Kindelspire of Leola leads the shot put, Northwestern’s Ty Boekelheide has the best triple jump, and Marty Mickelson of Waverly-South Shore leads the javelin.

Other area leaders in the boys’ division include Hettich who is second in the 100, Dylan Hofer of Aberdeen Christian who is second in the triple jump, Weston Senn of Faulkton who is second in the javelin followed by Bass in sixth, and Jett Yackley of Sully Buttes who is eighth, Warner’s Easton Bruns who is second in the pole vault with teammate Paxton Johnson sixth, Hitchcock-Tulare’s Logan LaBrie who is third in the 200, fourth in the 100, and fifth in the triple jump, Cantalope who is third in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles, Tyson Schumacher of Herreid-Selby Area who is third in the triple jump, Kadyn Westergren of Sully Buttes who is fourth in the shot put, Ethan Schwenn of Wilmot who is fifth in the 400, Gavin Hirsch of Herreid-Selby Area who is sixth in the 1,600, Hudson Barber of Sully Buttes who is seventh in the triple jump, Aberdeen’s Christian’s Luke Kaiser who is eighth in the 110 hurdles, and Ipswich’s Tate Hogie who is eighth in the discus.

Area relay teams in the boys’ leaders are Aberdeen Christian which is third in the 400 with Ipswich sixth, Faulkton which is fourth in the 3,200, Ipswich which is fifth in the 800, and Castlewood which is sixth in the 1,600.

Other area leaders in the girls’ division include Madisyn Gellhaus of Ipswich who is second in the 3,200 with teammate Jayla Stiles in fifth, Warner’s Miah Leidholt who is second in the high jump with Cierra Mickelson and Soleil Mickelson of Sunshine Bible in seventh and eighth, respectively, North Central’s Peyton Schnabel who is second in the pole vault with Warner’s Avery Bruns in fourth and teammate Courtney Leidholt in fifth, Brenna Jochim of Herreid-Selby Area who is third in the 100 and eighth in the 200, Warner’s Kaydee Mackner who is third in the long jump with Jochim seventh, Marley Guthmiller of Ipswich who is fourth in the 800 with Emma Schlachter of Gettysburg in seventh, Galbraith who is fourth in the 1,600, Guthmiller who is fifth in the 100 with Schnabel seventh, Guthmiller who is fifth in the 300 hurdles followed by Danika Kaup of Hoven in sixth, Ipswich’s Tristan Geditz who is fifth in the shot put and eighth in the discus, Uttecht who is sixth in the 400, and Kaup who is seventh in the 100 hurdles.

Area relay teams in the girls’ leaders are Northwestern which is third in the 1,600 with Ipswich seventh, Ipswich which is third in the 3,200, followed by Warner in fourth and Gettysburg in sixth, Northwestern which is fifth in the medley, followed by Wolsey-Wessington in seventh and Gettysburg in eighth, Wolsey-Wessington which is sixth in the 800, and Warner which is seventh in the 400.
