Class A Track and Field Leaders

One of the biggest movers of the week in this week’s Class A Track and Field leaders is Groton’s McKenna Tietz. The junior set a new school record time of :47.25 in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles at last week’s Ipswich Tiger Relays. That clocking ranks fourth among the state leaders this week.

Groton’s Keegen Tracy continues to have the fastest time in the 100-meter dash, is second in the 400, and seventh in the 200.

Milbank’s Sam Rick tops the field in the pole vault and triple jump, and is second in the long jump. Oliver Fieber of Deuel leads the 200, and Matthew Mount of Webster is first in the javelin, and third in the shot put and discus.

Other area leaders in the boys’ division are Kellen Pfitzer of Mobridge-Pollock who is second in the discus and fourth in the shot put, Lucas Johnson of Great Plains Lutheran who is third in the high jump, Miller’s Isaak Hunter who is fourth in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and fifth in the 110-meter high hurdles, Trayden Stambach of Mobridge-Pollock who is fourth in the triple jump, Jakob Steen of Clark-Willow Lake who is fifth in the javelin; Groton’s Jayden Schwan who is sixth in the 1,600, Harley Zemlicka of Milbank who is sixth in the 300 hurdles, Michael Severson of Clark-Willow Lake who is sixth in the shot put followed by Lawson Novy of Milbank in seventh, Bryton Blauert of Milbank who is seventh in the pole vault with Sisseton’s Carter Stickland in eighth, Milbank’s Jeter Scoular who is eighth in the 3,200, and Milo Schumacher of Great Plains Lutheran who is eighth in the 110 hurdles.

Area relay teams in the boys’ leaders are Sisseton which is fourth in the 3,200 followed by Deuel in fifth, Groton which is fifth in the medley, and Milbank which is eighth in the 400.

Area leaders in the girls’ division are Deuel’s Hannah Cutshaw who is third in the pole vault followed by teammate Lauryn Peterreins in fifth, Milbank’s Jacy Dexter in sixth, and Webster’s Kenley Grewe in eighth, Bentley Bauer of Mobridge-Pollock who is fourth in the long jump and fifth in the 100, Clark-Willow Lake’s Cadence Bochek who is fifth in the 400, Kamryn Nesheim who is sixth in the 1,600, and Eliza Larson who is fifth in the shot put, followed by Anna Neugebauer of Milbank in seventh, Abigail Lee of Britton-Hecla who is fifth in the triple jump, and Ellie Kemnitz of Mobridge-Pollock who is seventh in the javelin.

Area relay teams in the girls’ leaders are Clark-Willow Lake which is second in the 1,600 followed by Milbank in fifth and Groton in eighth, Clark-Willow Lake which is fourth in the medley with Mobridge-Pollock in seventh, and Groton which is sixth in the 800.
