Hermansen, Burckhard earn All-ESD honors

A pair of Aberdeen Central girls’ basketball players has been named to the Eastern South Dakota All-Conference team. Senior Taryn Hermansen, and junior Lauryn Burkchard both made the honor unit.

Hermansen averaged 12.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game, while Burckhard averaged 12.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per contest.

Other first-team members include: seniors Alyvia Padgett and Gracie Salter of Brandon Valley; junior Logan Durnil of Harrisburg; senior Hylton Heinz of Huron; eighth-grader CeCe Morgan and senior Addie Siemsen of Mitchell; freshman, Jayna VanLaecken of Tea Area; and junior Eden Wolfgram of Yankton.

Honorable mention selections are senior Ava Kellenberger of Brandon Valley; and senior Emery Larson of Pierre.

All-ESD boys’ basketball honorees include: senior Ayuel Deng of Brandon Valley; seniors Crayton Jibben and Stellen Larson of Harrisburg; junior Chase Davis and senior Blake Ellwein of Huron; senior Colton Smith of Mitchell; juniors Gavin Shawd and Grifin Wiebenga of Tea Area; and seniors Carter Buisker and Jackson McClemans of Watertown.

Sophomore Jackson Kudera of Yankton was selected honorable mention.
