Cavaliers up one spot, Cyclones among top 10 in A poll

Aberdeen Roncalli and Clark-Willow Lake moved up in Class A in this week’s Prep Media girls’ basketball polls.

The Cavaliers bumped from ninth to eighth, while Clark-Willow Lake went from receiving votes to ninth. Those one-loss teams will square off Thursday night at Roncalli Gym.

Hamlin continued to be rated third in Class A while Mobridge-Pollock is 10th.

Aberdeen Central remained fourth in Class AA. The Golden Eagles have a big week ahead, playing at second-rated O’Gorman tonight, and hosting top-rated Brandon Valley on Saturday.

Mahpiya Luta continued as the top team in Class A.

Lyman remained atop the Class B poll. Those receiving votes include Highmore-Harrold and Waubay-Summit.

The South Dakota Prep Media Basketball Poll for the week of Jan. 19 is listed below, ranking the top-five teams in Class AA, top-10 teams in Class A and Class B, the team’s record, points received and ranking in the previous poll. First-place votes are listed in parentheses.
