Ravellette leads Central at Mitchell Invitational

MITCHELL – Aberdeen Central’s Jackson Ravellette had a top 25 finish to lead the Golden Eagles at the Mitchell Invitational Golf Tournament on Friday.

Ravellette tied for 23rd with a round of 77 to pace a balanced attack for Central. Teammate Carter Blanchard tied for 34th just two strokes back, Cole Brust was two strokes behind him with an 81 tied for 45th, and Kyler Senger was two strokes behind that, tied for 59th with an 83. Other Central golfers were Kalen Larson, tied for 79th with an 86, and Ben Phillips tied for 93rd with an 88.

The group powered Central to a 10th place finish in team points with a 320. Pierre shot a 286 to edge Brandon Valley by a single stroke to win the team championship.

The individual race was close as well. Nick Bothun of Pierre won a playoff hole over Charlie Swift of Harrisburg after both finished with rounds of 68.

Central will now take a week-long break to gear up for hosting the Eastern South Dakota Conference Tournament on Monday, Sept. 30 at Moccasin Creek Country Club.
