Wings rally to defeat Corpus Christi in season opener

BLAINE, Minn. - The Aberdeen Wings scored three unanswered goals to rally past Corpus Christi 4-3 Wednesday during the opening day of the NAHL Showcase. The Wings trailed 3-1 late in the second period when the momentum switched. Logan Gravnik scored on an assist from Simon Pollock in the final minute of the period to slice the margin to one. From there, Aberdeen scored a pair of goals in the final period for grab the victory. Pollock scored an an assist from Riley Sharum, before Jaxson Murray provided the game-winner on an assist from Zach Reim with just over six minutes remaining. Gage Stewart, who gave up two goals in the first 21 minutes of action, was tough down the stretch in goal for the Wings. Stewart faced 32 shots and made 29 saves. Isak Holmstrom scored the first goal of the season for the Wings about midway through the second period as Aberdeen began slicing into its first two-goal deficit.
