Wings outscore St. Cloud in 8-5 victory

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – There was no shortage of scoring in Aberdeen’s win over St. Cloud in NAHL hockey action Friday night.

The Wings collected an 8-5 victory in a game that featured a combined 70 shots on goal.

Aberdeen bolted out to a three-goal advantage in the opening period as Keaton Weis, Bradyn Strom, and Payne Riffey each found the back of the net.

The Wings tacked on two more goals in the second period when Filip Henriksson and Melker Hof scored.

Henrikkson added another goal for Aberdeen in the third, and then after the hosts had sliced the deficit down to 6-4, the Wings added two more goals as Lucas Schaefer and Riffey capped Aberdeen’s scoring.

Aberdeen outshot St. Cloud 40-30 with Willum Braun collecting 25 saves in goal for the Wings.

The same two teams are back on the ice this evening.
