Class B Track and Field Leaders

A variety of Lake Region Conference athletes can be found among the Class B statewide track and field leaders this week.

In the boys’ division, Zander Widener of Langford Area is first in both hurdles races and fourth in the 200-meter dash, Isaac Sumption of Frederick is second in the 200-meter dash and third in the 100-meter dash, Alec Maier of North Central is second in the 400-meter dash and third in the 200, Hunter Niederbaumer of Faulkton is fifth in the 1,600-meter run and seventh in the 3,200-meter run, and Josh McQuarie of Ipswich is tied for fifth in the high jump and seventh in the 110-meter high hurdles. Warner also has a strong delegation in the leaders (see related story on the website).

There are also a large number of LRC athletes in the girls’ division. Northwestern has Jessica Boekelheide who is second in the 100-meter dash, Sydney Schell who is third in the 100, Jocelyn Haven who is third in the 100 hurdles, and Ella Boekelheide who is eighth in the 3,200-meter run. There are four members of the LRC in the high jump: Peyton Melius of Faulkton who is tied for third, Gracie Lange of Ipswich who is sixth, and Addison Melius of Faulkton and Paige Mehlberg of Ipswich who are tied for seventh.
