Wings fall to St. Cloud in another 13-goal game

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – One night after grabbing an 8-5 win over St. Cloud, the Aberdeen Wings dropped an 8-5 decision to the Norsemen on Saturday night in NAHL hockey action.

Aberdeen led 4-3 at one stage, before the hosts scored four unanswered goals to surge in front. The Norseman had five power play goals in the contest.

The Wings received a pair of goals from Lucas Schaefer. Payne Riffey had a goal and an assist, Filip Henriksson had a goal and two assists, and Ari Popovskiy had the other goal. Melker Hof and Brody Dustin each finished with a pair of assists.

Aberdeen outshot St. Cloud 37-34. Willum Braun had 26 saves for the Wings.

Aberdeen will now face the Watertown Shamrocks for three straight games. The two teams will play at the Odde Ice Center on Friday, at Watertown on Saturday, and then back in Aberdeen the following weekend.
