MILLER – Powered by race winner Della Ernst, Herreid-Selby Area claimed the girls’ team championship at the Miller Invitational Cross Country Meet on Monday.
The Wolverines edged Northwestern by a single point to take the team title.
Ernst covered the distance in a time of 20:38.7. Teammates Evelyn Shearer and Jentry Hubner finished sixth and seventh, respectively.
Northwestern’s Brenna Halverson was runner-up, with teammate Rachel Melius in fourth. Faulkton’s Austina Sorensen took fifth.
Kaden Ober of James Valley Christian won the boys’ race helping the Vikings to the team title as well.
Drew Arbach of North Central was fourth, and Faulkton’s Korbin Stark took fifth.
