SIOUX FALLS – Aberdeen Roncalli sent a handful of varsity runners on a late-night excursion Friday evening, putting four boys and four girls through the course at the Augustana Twilight at Yankton Trail Park.
Amongst the top performances for the Cavaliers was top-65 performance from junior Addison Cassady. Cassady finished in 64th place in a pack of five runners that finished within a second of each other.
Taylor McComsey finished in 135th for the Cavaliers, followed by Hazel Kannegieter in 212th and Hannah Eskro in 239th.
The girls field had more than 400 total runners.
Meanwhile, on the boys’ side, it was seventh-grader Ben Wiegel setting the pace for the Cavaliers. Weigel finished in 269th place, followed by Cole Feickert in 398th, Ben Keller in 446th and Ethan Gonsor in 479th.
Roncalli will turn its attention to a pair of home meets next. First up is the Sahli/Salmi Invitational at Lee Park Golf Course on Sept. 10, followed by the Roncalli Invitational on the same course on Sept. 17.
