VOLGA – Aberdeen Roncalli got its golf season underway with a runner-up finish as a team at the Sioux Valley Invitational on Monday. The Cavaliers were three strokes behind team champion Brookings JV.
Roncalli’s Lucas Daggett finished second individually with a 78. Groton’s Jace Johnson was third, also with a 78, and Sisseton’s Luke Nielsen was fourth with a 79.
Finn Anderson of Roncalli was eighth with an 81. Owen Vogel was 12th with an 84, and Matthew Gerlach was 15th with an 87.
Sisseton was fifth in the team standings, and Groton tied for sixth.
Roncalli is back in action today, competing in the West Central Invitational at Hartford.
