Roehrich edges Braun in playoff to win Sanford Sutton Bay

AGAR – Watertown’s Brynn Roehrich won a two-hole playoff over Olivia Braun of Aberdeen to win the girls’ championship of the South Dakota Golf Association/Sanford International Series Sutton Bay event on Monday.

Roehrich, a three-time State B champion for Clark-Willow Lake, and Braun a two-time State AA champ for Aberdeen Central, finished with identical rounds of 73. Roehrich then won the title on the second playoff hole.

Aberdeen’s Claire Crawford finished third with a round of 76.

The boys’ division was also decided in a multi-hole playoff. Tyson Lunn of Brookings defeated Cooper Shuman of Brandon on the third playoff hole. Both shot rounds of 72.

Jonathan DeBoer of Twin Brooks, who competed for Milbank in high school, finished sixth with a round of 74.
