Seven athletes win multiple open events at Central Plains Super Regional

GETTYSBURG – A group of athletes captured multiple open events during the Central Plains Super Regional track and field meet on Thursday.

Faulkton’s Spencer Melius won three individual events, taking the 110-meter hurdles, the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, and the javelin.

Double open event winners included Eben Wurgler of Aberdeen Christian who won the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, Herreid-Selby Area’s Gavin Hirsch who won the 800-meter and 1,600-meter runs, and Tyson Schumacher who won the long jump and the triple jump, Mobridge-Pollock’s Jayda Thompson who won the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter intermediate hurdles, and Bentley Bauer who won the 100-meter dash and the long jump, and North Central’s Amree Vander Vorst who won the shot put and the javelin.

Aberdeen Christian’s Shawnteah LaCroix won the triple jump.
