GETTYSBURG – Gettysburg swept the team championships while five track and field athletes won multiple open events during the Central South Dakota Conference meet on Saturday.
Faulkton’s Spencer Melius won the 110-meter high hurdles, the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and the javelin. Josiah Malone of Wolsey-Wessington won the high jump and long jump.
In the girls’ division Gettysburg’s Finlee Heien swept the hurdles races and Emma Schlachter won the 400-meter dash and the 800-meter run. Tessa Hinman of Sunshine Bible Academy won the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash and ran on winning 800-meter and 1,600-meter relay teams.
