The Austin Bruins jumped out to a two-goal advantage and defeated the Aberdeen Wings 3-2 in NAHL hockey action Saturday night at the Odde Ice Center to split a pair of games over the weekend.

Matthew Martin scored Aberdeen’s first goal on assists from Cooper Anderson and Easton Edwards to slice the deficit in half with four minutes left in the opening period. However, the Wings would not find the back of the net again until 33 seconds left in the game when Price Grimes scored on assist from Martin.

The Wings owned a 33-31 edged in shots on goal. Aberdeen goalie Willum Braun collected 29 saves.

The Wings now head on the road for two games this weekend at Bismarck. The Bobcats and Austin are tied for the Central Division lead. Aberdeen is in third place.
