Wings surge past Austin for victory

The Aberdeen Wings scored five unanswered goals on the way to a 6-3 NAHL hockey win over the Austin Bruins Friday night at the Odde Ice Center.

After falling behind 3-1, the Wings took control, tying the game at 3-3 by the end of the first period, taking the lead in the second, and tacking on two more goals in the third.

Jonathan Doucette scored Aberdeen’s first two goals, and Jibber Kuhl also scored in the opening period.

Herman Berggren put the Wings ahead in the second, before Easton Edwards and Brody Dustin both found the back of the net in the third.

Matthew Martin had three assists on the evening.

Aberdeen outshot Austin 30-24 with Adam Dybal collecting 21 saves in goal.

The same two teams are back on the ice tonight with puck drop set for 7:15 at the Odde Ice Center.
