NSU men fall to Northern Michigan

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. – Northern Michigan scored 49 second-half points to pull away from Northern State on the way to an 80-61 men’s college basketball victory on Friday.

The Wolves trailed by just five points at the half, but could not keep pace in the final 20 minutes.

Cameron Mercadel led four players in double-figure scoring for NSU with 15 points. Tobi Obiora and Joshua Book each contributed a dozen, and Ty Rogers followed with 11. Obiora and Book finished with 11 and nine rebounds, respectively.

Northern, 0-3 on the season, takes on Northwest Missouri State today before returning home to host Jamestown on Tuesday in the Wolves’ Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opener.
