NSU women win, Krueger collects milestone victory

KEARNEY, Neb. – The Northern State women’s basketball team placed four players in double-figure scoring and coach Paula Krueger won her 100th career game with the program in a 65-50 win over Nebraska Kearney on Saturday.

The Wolves, who trailed by three points at the half, outscored the Lopers by five points in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Izzy Moore topped NSU with 16 points, while Morgan Fiedler, Lily Klein and Megan Counts each contributed 10. Klein hauled down 10 rebounds and Counts collected eight as Northern owned a commanding 52-30 advantage on the boards.

The Wolves, 1-1 on the season, play Black Hills State on Friday, and School of Mines on Saturday in Sioux Falls, before hosting their home opener the following Tuesday, Nov. 26 against Jamestown.
