Groton went from not receiving votes to being right outside of the top five in Class A in this week’s Prep Medial volleyball polls.
The Tigers, who improved to 23-5 with a win on Monday night, are one of three area squads receiving recognition in Class A this week. Clark-Willow Lake, the state’s only remaining unbeaten team, is rated fourth, and Miller also received votes this week.
In Class B, Northwestern and Warner remained second and third, respectively, and Hitchcock-Tulare moved up a spot to fourth. All three teams are in Region 1B, meaning that by next week one of these threw power house squads will be eliminated in region action.
Harrisburg in Class AA, Dakota Valley in Class A, and Chester in B are unanimous number one picks in their respective classes.
