MILBANK – While Aberdeen Roncalli was not exactly clicking on all cylinders Tuesday night, the Cavaliers still found enough energy and momentum to record their second win in as many nights.
Roncalli stopped Milbank 25-16, 21-25, 25-15, 25-17 in Northeast Conference volleyball action.
“Not our best performance tonight,” said Roncalli coach Leesa Ware. “We did have a lot of good stats across the board, though. It seemed like we couldn’t get things going tonight defensively or offensively.”
The Cavaliers claimed the opening set before stumbling in the second. Roncalli regrouped and was able to close out the match by winning the second and third sets.
“They definitely did not give up tonight, despite losing the second set,” Ware said.
Rylee Voeller led a balanced Roncalli attack with a dozen kills to go along with three aces and 14 digs. Jillian Ellwein contributed nine kills, and Gabby Thomas added eight.
Bailey Koepke topped the Bulldogs with 10 kills.
Roncalli, 15-10 on the season, hosts Deuel on Friday night in its final regular-season home contest. The Cavaliers close out the regular season with a match at Herreid-Selby Area next week.
