Britton-Hecla, which has won five straight games, is now receiving votes in Class 9AA in this week’s Prep Media football polls.
The Braves have averaged nearly 50 points per game in those victories. They will receive a forfeit this week, before finishing up the regular season with a game against Waverly-South Shore.
There are two new number one teams this week as Brandon Valley takes over the top spot in Class 11AAA, and Huron has climbed to the top in Class 11AA. The Tigers host Aberdeen Central on Friday.
Among the other area teams, Mobridge-Pollock is rated fourth in Class 11B, and Clark-Willow Lake is rated fifth (those two teams face each other on Friday), Hamlin is rated second in Class 9AA, Warner is rated second and Ipswich is receiving votes in Class 9A, and Sully Buttes is rated first, Faulkton is fourth, and Herreid-Selby Area is fifth in Class 9B.
