Braun tied for fifth at SDGA amateur event

BROOKINGS – Aberdeen’s Olivia Braun is tied for fifth after the second round of the South Dakota Golf Association Amateur Championship Saturday at the Brookings Country Club.

Braun has a two-round total of 154, just two strokes off the pace. The senior to be at Aberdeen Central shot a 78 on Friday and a 76 on Saturday for a total of 10-over-par.

There is a two-way tie atop the leaderboard as Reese Jansa of Sioux Falls and Rylan Horning of Rapid City both have 36-hole scores of 152.

Pierre’s Natalie Young and Mitchell’s Allison Meyerink are both at 153. McKenzie Mages of Sioux Falls is tied with Braun at 154.

Watertown’s Jake Olson leads the men’s division by two strokes following a two-day total of nine-under-par 135. Luke Honner of Sioux Falls is in second.

The tourney concludes today.
