Jorgenson earns silver medal at World University Games

BERLIN, Germany – Aberdeen native Gena Jorgenson finished runner-up in the 1,500-meter freestyle on Monday during the World University games.

The upcoming senior at the University of Nebraska set a personal career best and school record in the event in a time of 16:15.44, was edge out at the finish by a mere 4/100ths of a second. Earlier in the Games Jorgenson won her heat in a time of 16:23.82.

Jorgenson is a two-time All-American swimmer for the Huskers and a former member of the Aberdeen Swim Club.
