Class A Track and Field Leaders

Some of the state’s top Class A boys’ sprinters are familiar names in the statewide track and field leaders.

The top five 200-meter dash times belong to runners in the northeast part of the state.

Deuel’s Oliver Fieber has the top time, followed by Zac VanMeeteren of Hamlin, Micah Holien of Great Plains Lutheran, Keegen Tracy of Groton, and Gavin Kloos of Deuel.

Fieber also owns the fastest time in the 100-meter dash with VanMeeteren third, and Holien fifth. VanMeeteren is also second in the 400-meter dash.

Lucas Johnson of Great Plains Lutheran continues to lead the high jump.

Deuel has the fastest time in the 800-meter relay

Deuel’s Gabe Sather is second in the 110-meter high hurdles followed by Miller’s Isaak Hunter in fifth, and Milbank’s Emmett Hanson in sixth. Hunter is fourth in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles followed by Hanson in sixth.

There are four Northeast Conference athletes in the boys’ pole vault. Bryton Blauert of Milbank is fourth, followed by teammates Sam Rick in sixth and Max Scoular in seventh, and Webster’s Jeron McCreary in eighth.

Other area boys among the open event leaders are Trayton Stambach of Mobridge-Pollock is sixth in triple jump followed by GPL’s Hessel Andringa in seventh. Andringa is also eighth in the long jump, and Michael Severson of Clark-Willow Lake is eighth in the shot put.

Other area boys’ relay teams among the leaders include Great Plains Lutheran which is third in the sprint medley followed by Groton in fifth, and Deuel is fourth in the 400-meter relay.

Area girls among the open event leaders are Deuel’s Makia Moe who is fourth in the pole vault with teammate Hannah Cutshaw in sixth, and Milbank’s Jacy Dexter in seventh, Grace Overland of Mobridge-Pollock is seventh in the javelin, Zayda Townsend of Milbank is eighth in the 400, and Clark-Willow Lake’s Zoe Nichols is eighth in the high jump.

Area girls’ relay teams among the leaders are Milbank which is third in the 1,600, followed by Groton in fourth, Clark-Willow Lake is third in the sprint medley and eighth in the 3,200, and Groton is fourth in the 3,200, and eighth in both the 400-meter and 800-meter.
