Class A Track and Field Leaders

Several area athletes moved up in this week’s Class A track and field leaderboard.

Gavin Kloos of Deuel is now fourth in the 200-meter dash, Miller’s Isaak Hunter climbed to third in the 110-meter high hurdles and moved into fourth in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, Milbank’s Sam Rick is now sixth in the pole vault, followed by teammate Max Scoular in seventh, and Webster’s Jeron McCreary in eighth, and in the girls’ pole vault Rylee Scoular of Milbank is now eighth. In relays the Clark-Willow Lake girls soared to the third position in the sprint medley relay.

Last week’s top area athletes retained their number one ratings. Oliver Fieber of Deuel has the fastest time in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash, Lucas Johnson of Great Plains Lutheran leads the high jump, and the Deuel boys remained the fastest team in the 800-meter relay.

Area athletes in second include Hamlin’s Vac VanMeeteren in the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash, and Gabe Sather of Deuel in the 110-meter high hurdles.

Other area individual boys’ leaders include: Micah Holien of Great Plains Lutheran who is third in the 200 and eighth in the 100, Milbank’s Emmett Hanson who is fourth in the 110 hurdles and sixth in the 300 hurdles, Bryton Blauert of Milbank who is fourth in the pole vault, Hessel Andringa of GPL who is sixth in the triple jump, followed by Rick in seventh, Milbank’s Graham Lightfield who is eighth in the 110 hurdles, Michael Severson of Clark-Willow Lake who is eighth in the shot put, and Jakob Steen of Clark-Willow Lake who is eighth in the javelin.

Other area boys’ relays teams in the leaders are Great Plains Lutheran which is third in the sprint medley, and Deuel which is sixth in the 400-meter.

Other area individual girls’ leaders are: Deuel’s Makia Moe who is fourth in the pole vault, followed by Milbank’s Jacy Dexter in sixth, Zayda Towsend of Milbank who is sixth in the 400, Webster’s Sarah Zubke who is seventh in the high jump, and Sisseton’s Sidney Johnson who is eighth in the javelin.

Other area girls’ relay teams in the leaders are Groton which is third in the 1,600, and fourth in the 3,200, and eighth in the 800, Milbank which is fifth in the 1,600, and Clark-Willow Lake which is eighth in the 3,200.
