GROTON – Claire Crawford captured her fifth tournament championship of the spring on Monday in helping to lead Aberdeen Roncalli to the team crown at the Groton Invitational Golf Tournament at Olive Grove Golf Course.
Crawford fired a 79 to edge teammate Grace Seyer by four strokes.
“It was a fun day to watch Claire and Grace today,” said Roncalli coach Jon Murdy. “Fun to watch improvement from those two.”
The Cavaliers finished with a team total of 356, while Groton was second with a 383.
Groton’s Carly Guthmiller was third with an 86, and Carlee Johnson sixth with a 91.
Ava Danielson of Roncalli finished seventh with a 95, and Mackenzie Wegehaupt was 10th with a 99.

The Cavaliers are back on the same course on Thursday for the Region 1A Tournament.
“Going to be fun to watch on Thursday,” Murdy said. “I feel like the girls are having more fun playing golf.”
