BROOKINGS – Aberdeen Central came out on the short end of a 1-0 decision to Brookings in an Eastern South Dakota Conference girls’ soccer contest Thursday night.

After a scoreless stalemate in the first half, Brookings broke through with a goal in the 53rd minute and, despite giving themselves chances throughout, the Golden Eagles were unable to find the net on their end.

“We just need to let it go and we need to move on,” said Central coach Kendra Hanley following the setback. “We had a lot of shots tonight and nothing fell for us. They worked hard and we are looking forward to having some solid practices this next week to get back on track.”

Central has a week before taking the pitch again next Thursday at Mitchell.
