MILBANK – Aberdeen Roncalli swept the doubles action to help pave the way to an 8-1 win over Milbank in tennis action on Tuesday.

“We got a lot of nice wins today versus a really good Milbank team, but I felt our doubles set the tone early,” said Roncalli coach Ryan Bohle.

The Cavaliers won two of the doubles in straight sets, and picked up a big super-tiebreaker win at top flight doubles where Josie Mitzel and Sydney Bohle grabbed a 10-3 victory.

“Sydney and Josie capped the doubles with a tiebreak win versus two really good players,” Coach Bohle said. “They dominated the first set and then the tables turned and they got dominated in the second. Josie set the tone at the beginning of the tiebreak with two really nice winners, and Sydney closed the deal with a couple of huge serves at the end.”

The Cavaliers then won of the four sixth singles to put the finishing touches on the dual win.

“Sydney, Moelleigh (Hofer), Abigail (Andersen), and Lydia (Nora) all closed the day out with big singles wins,” Coach Bohle said. “That’s a nice team win for us, because that Milbank team is a very talented team that we will see again in a few weeks.”
