“Again today we had lots of new PRs and some movement in the top 24 to qualify for state,” said Roncalli co-coach Mark Stone. “We had throwers, jumpers and track athletes who had a great day.”
The Cavaliers won the boys’ team points and were second in the girls’ team points.
“The last couple weeks we’ve made very good progress,” Stone said. “Very proud of their efforts.”

Christian received wins from Luke Kaiser in the 300 hurdles, Eben Wurgler in the 400, and Dylan Hofer in the triple jump in the boys’ division, and Ali Isakson in the 100 in the girls’ division.
“Ali had probably the best day of her track career. PRs in the long jump, 100 and 200. She’s jumped up into the top 15 in all of those events,” said Christian coach Sam Bjorkman. “I couldn’t be happier for her after all of her work last year.”
Hofer went a season-best 44 feet in the triple jump and also improved on his time in the 100 at :11.09.
Bjorkman also pointed out the efforts of Ashton Holmes in the javelin.
“Big shout to Ashton who got back into the top 24 in the javelin with a five-foot PR,” Bjorkman said. “Love how hard he and Jackson Anderson are working. Both PR’d in all three throwing events today.”
