Siefken hat trick lifts Cougars to girls’ win over Oahe

PIERRE – Rachel Siefken scored three goals to help power the Aberdeen Cougars to a 3-2 girls’ hockey victory over the Oahe Capitals on Saturday afternoon.

Siefken started the scoring with the lone goal in the opening period, and after the Capitals tied the game in the second, scored back-to-back goals to finish off the period, her last goal coming with 15 seconds remaining.

Oahe closed the deficit to one in the third, but was unable to level the score.

Chloe Vikander had 21 saves in goal for the Cougars.

Aberdeen has games at Sioux Center, Iowa on Saturday, and at Sioux Falls next Sunday.
