WATERTOWN – Aberdeen Central grabbed three places in the vault during the Watertown Quadrangular gymnastics meet on Tuesday night.
Watertown won the event, with Britton-Hecla second. Central finished in fourth.
“The girls were not too anxious as we always feel comfortable and at home in Watertown,” said Central coach Mickey Everson. “We decided to try a few new upgrades on floor. They weren’t scared or hesitant, so I’m really proud of them for pushing themselves. We will keep working on getting those things more comfortably.”
Regan Lust finished fourth in the floor exercise.
Central had a trio of gymnasts medal on the vault.
Lust finished second, with Alexis Bomesberg tying for third, and Hattie Gederos tying for fifth.
“Vault went really well, seeing a few more prequalifying scores for state,” Everson said.
The Golden Eagles were unable to secure a place on the beam or bars.

“Bars is our weakest event, but we have added some skills and cleaned some up, so we will slowly see tenths inch up,” Everson said. “We ended on beam and had a lot of falls. The skills are there and the drive to add more is there, now we simply have to put our feet on the beam.”
Kennady Van Lith of Britton-Hecla tied for fifth on beam, and took fifth in floor on the way to a fourth-place finish in All-Around.
Central will compete at a meet in Sioux Falls on Saturday.
“We will correct a few things the next two days in practice,” Everson said, “and hopefully put it all together Saturday when we head to Sioux Falls.
Team Points: Watertown 145.8, Britton-Hecla 132.25, O’Gorman 129.95, Aberdeen Central 127.25.
