FAULKTON – After losing a lead at the end of the opening set, Faulkton rallied to claim the next two sets on the way to a four-set win over Aberdeen Christian Thursday night.
The Trojans claimed the Lake Region Conference volleyball victory by scores of 21-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-21.
The hosts appeared to be in control of the first set before the Knights erased a 19-15 deficit by scoring 10 of the final 12 points to secure the win.
Christian then owned a 20-19 lead in the second set before Faulkton scored three points in a row for a lead it never lost to even the match.
Faulkton led 19-16 in the third set, only to have the Knights score four unanswered points for another 20-19 lead. Christian still led at 21-20 before Faulkton closed with a flurry to secure that set. The Trojans then controlled the fourth set to finish off the match.
Brooklyn Mueller had 14 kills to lead a balanced attack for Faulkton. Presleigh Martinmaas contributed 11, and Anika Mueller finished with 10.
Jolie Fogarty led the Knights with a dozen kills and 23 digs. Ari Johnson had 10 kills, four aces, and a pair of blocks.
Christian, 5-6 on the season, plays in a tournament at Redfield on Saturday.
