Wolsey-Wessington boys, JVC girls grab 281 Conference titles

HURON – The Wolsey-Wessington boys and James Valley Christian girls collected team championships during the 281 Conference track and field meet on Tuesday.

There were several athletes who won a pair of open events on the day.

In the girls’ division, Wolsey-Wessington’s Tatum Luce won the high jump and pole vault, and was also a member of the winning 400-meter relay team. Emma Schneider of Hitchcock-Tulare won the long jump and triple jump.

In the boys’ division Caleb Richmond of Wolsey-Wessington won the 400-meter dash and 800-meter run, and Hitchcock-Tulare’s Erik Salmen won the shot put and javelin. Logan LaBrie of Hitchcock-Tulare won the 200-meter dash and ran on a pair of winning relays for the Patriots.
