MADISON – Madison topped Deuel 130.200 to 125.600 in the season gymnastics opener between two traditional Class A powers Tuesday night.
Despite the setback, Deuel won three of the four apparatus and ended up having the all-around winner.
Hannah Cutshaw won the bars and floor exercise and was fourth on the beam on the way to winning the all-around with a total of 33.000. Teammate Hope Bjerke won the vault, tied for fourth in both the bars and beam and ended up third in all-around.
Madison’s Karlie Nelson won the beam.
