Central golfers finish ninth at Pierre tourney

PIERRE – Aberdeen Central shot a 334 and finished ninth in team points during the Pierre Invitational golf tournament on Tuesday.

Pierre, which had three of the top five individuals, won the event by six strokes over Watertown. Jake Olson of Watertown was the medalist with a 66, three strokes better than Sawyer Sonnenschein and Luke Olson of Pierre, and Parker Reede of Spearfish.

Central was led by Cole Brust who finished 23rd with an 80. Peyton Brust was just one shot back and placed 30th.

The Golden Eagles travel to Huron for a tournament on Friday and will have their only home meet of the season on Tuesday when they compete in the Hub City Invitational at Lee Park Golf Course.
