Aberdeen Central’s Jacob Merxbauer moved up to third in the triple jump in this week’s Class AA track and field leaders. The senior went 44-feet, 5 inches at the Eastern South Dakota Conference meet last Saturday.
Sam Rohlfs continues to lead by the long triple and triple jump. He is also third in the 200 and seventh in the 100.
Isaac Ligon went 13-feet at the ESD meet to crack the top six in the pole vault.
Other Central leaders in the boys’ division are Josh Martin who is second in the 3,200 and third in the 800 and 1,600, Aiden Heimann who is third in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles, and Drew Salfrank who is fifth in the 400.
On the girls’ side, the 800-meter relay is sixth following a time they clocked at the ESD. Members are Abigail Witte, Melissa Sandquist, Taryn Hettich and Gracie Rife.
Ciara Frank is third in the high jump and eighth in the long jump. Taryn Hermansen is fourth in the shot put. Abby Berry is tied for seventh in the javelin, while Grace Kuch is tied for eighth in the discus.
