PRESS RELEASE
On a day where the weather proved to be a big factor, the Saints fell just short of a monumental upset, as Dakota State was able to escape Swisher Field with a 16-14 victory.
Dakota State scored the first 14 points of the game on a one-yard run from Jack Anderson and a 19 yard reception from Cooper McDermot before the Saints would answer. The Saints spark came from a 41-yard interception return by Tristan Lewis which took Presentation down to the one yard line.
From there, running back Breken Green would pound it in and cut the score to 14-7. The score would remain that way through the rest of the first half.
Although seemingly insignificant at the time, a safety caused by a high snap early in the second half would give Dakota State the lead they would hold until the end of the game.
Halfway through the fourth quarter quarterback Hunter Giffrow would find Green through the air and cut the lead to 16-14. The Saints would have one final opportunity to win the game however.

Luiz Ferreira was the star of the day for Presentation. Prior to the game he proposed to his girlfriend, Saints soccer player Lexi Boone. After she said yes, he would proceed to have punts go 71 yards, 61 yards, and 60 yards. He had a chance to win the game as time expired, but his 55 yard field goal attempt would fall just short and left of the goalpost, securing the win for the Trojans.
