Redfield in fifth at State B wrestling tourney

RAPID CITY – Redfield won eight matches during the opening round of the State B wrestling tournament on Thursday and sits in fifth place in the team standings.

Canton leads the team points with 45.5 points, followed by Winner with 40.5. Kimball-White Lake-Platte-Geddes and Philip are tied for third with 30 points. Redfield is fifth at 28.

Those who won matches for Redfield included Brady Risetter, Mason Whitley, Keaton Rohlfs, Bradyn Robbins, Mason Fey, Dylan Whitley, Corbin Schwartz and Grady Fey.

Webster and Clark-Willow Lake each had two individuals who won opening round matches. Cael Larson and Andy Johnson won matches for Webster, while Gunnar Kvistad and Gage Burke won for Clark-Willow Lake.

Other winners included Holden Hawkins of Sisseton, Dragr Monson of Groton, Parker Geditz of Faulkton, and Lucas Rowland of Ipswich-Leola-Bowdle.

Redfield defeated McCook Central-Montrose 39-28 in the dual portion of the tournament before falling to Winner 60-12.
