TEA – Aberdeen Central bounced back from a weekend setback to claim its third win in its last four outings with a sweep of Tea Area on the road Thursday night. The Golden Eagles collected the Eastern South Dakota Conference volleyball victory by set scores of 25-14, 25-13 and 25-20.

Central set the tone for the match at the service line, racking up 11 aces as a team. Camryn Albrecht led the way, notching four aces on her own. Lauryn Burckhard joined in with three aces.

“We served really well tonight,” said Central coach Jackie Bindenagel. “Our ace-to-error ratio was good.”

The Golden Eagles backed up its service efforts with a balanced attack at the net, something Bindenagel noted was a point of emphasis heading into the night.

“We wanted all our kids involved offensively,” she said, “and our setters did a nice job making decisions.”

Burckhard finished with 11 kills to lead that category and finished off her night with 17 digs, as well. Annie Bindenagel added nine kills for the Golden Eagles, while Alivia Miller and Albrecht split the assists with 15 and 13, respectively.

Central, 8-2 on the season, will host Brookings on Monday before getting a week off ahead of the home stretch of the regular season.
